Going to competition has always been a part of YETI's history. This book will help you be a responsible and prepared member of the team at competition!

# Pit Crew 101

Congratulations! You made YETI Pit Crew or are interested in signing up.

While most of this information is specific to 2025 Reefscape**™,** much of it can still help you prepare for competition.

Be sure to review the commonly asked questions and what you may need to know about your robot specifically!

Additionally, if you are on the Electrical Subteam for Pit Crew, please review [Electrical Pit Crew Tips](https://wiki.yetirobotics.org/books/electrical/page/tips) to make sure you know some basic "shortcuts" to preventing/addressing an issue.

# Pack List

"Coming to competition prepared is the first step you can take to be successful"

- Mukesh Ramanathan

While each year we have a different Pack List, it is important to have one to make sure you have everything at competition.

For reference here is the YETI Pack List for the year 2023:

And here is the YETI Pack List for the year 2019:

Please make sure you have one of these and confirm you have everything you need!

# Technician 101

The Technician role is one that is often overlooked.

Traditionally this role is given to a member, or members, that are in tune with the controls side of the team. The Technician role is responsible for all-things battery, robot cart, and is often referred to as the "Leader of Pit."

As Technician it is your duty to help your drive team and pit crew successfully complete their respective tasks throughout competiton.

To help you through this endeavor, here is a comprehensive guide on what you should know:

# Batteries

Truly a topic that deserves a lot of attention.

This past season (2025 Reefscape) has been the year of battery fails. Having to redo our battery set TWICE at competition really makes it apparent how important it is to set these right. Being able to create, implement, and routinely use batteries is important. It is more important to do all of these steps correctly.

For this section of the Competition Book, please refer to the information in the [Electrical Book (Battery Chapter)](https://wiki.yetirobotics.org/books/electrical/chapter/batteries)

Be sure you are preparing batteries correctly, using them correctly, and appropriately handling issues you may have with them!

# Secondary 101

Please review [Programming Pit Crew and Secondary Driver](https://wiki.yetirobotics.org/books/robot-software/page/tips-for-being-a-programmer-at-comp) for this Chapter
