The Impact Award is FIRST Robotics Competition's highest honor, recognizing teams that make a meaningful difference beyond the playing field. This archive documents YETI Robotics' Impact submissions over the years, reflecting our ongoing commitment to spreading STEM education, inspiring the next generation of innovators, and making a lasting impact in the Charlotte community.

2023-2024 Impact Submission
In the 2023–2024 season, YETI Robotics continued to expand its impact throughout the Charlotte community and beyond. The team dedicated over 3,000 hours to outreach across 40 events, inspiring thousands through STEM education and community engagement. YETI launched its newest initiative, RISE with YETI, providing an affordable gateway to STEM for students at Title I schools through a custom robotics and business curriculum. The team also continued after-school programs, summer camps, Girl Scout Robotics Merit Badge classes, senior cybersecurity workshops, and STEM advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C. On the competition side, YETI earned the FIRST Impact Award at the UNC Asheville District Event and advanced to the FIRST North Carolina District Championship, where they received the Regional FIRST Impact Award and qualified for the FIRST Championship.

2022-2023 Impact Submission
In the 2022-2023 season, YETI Robotics continued rebuilding and expanding its impact throughout Charlotte and beyond following the pandemic. The team grew to a record 60 students while maintaining a welcoming, student-led culture with 68% minority and 28% female participation. YETI strengthened STEM education by mentoring and supporting FIRST teams, expanding its pipeline to 41 FIRST teams since its founding, and launching free robotics programs for underserved communities through organizations such as PROJECT 658, the Girl Scouts Hornets Nest Council, and Title I summer camps that reached over 200 students. The team also continued serving the community through initiatives like Roof Above, the Fill Em Up school supply drive, and the Tuckaseegee Recreation Center Bookbag Drive. Beyond North Carolina, YETI shared resources through Open Alliance, YETI Tips, Chief Delphi, GitHub, Discord, and international mentoring efforts in India, inspiring FIRST teams and students around the world.

2021-2022 Impact Submission
In the 2020–2021 season, YETI Robotics continued advancing its mission to break down cultural, economic, and gender barriers through STEM education. The team strengthened the FIRST community by starting 37 FIRST teams, mentoring 13, assisting 8, and investing more than $135,000 to support teams with registration, competition, and facility costs. YETI expanded outreach to underserved students through virtual STEM camps and after-school programs that inspired over 100 students and led to the creation of new FIRST teams, while its Girl Scouts Robotics Merit Badge program introduced more than 300 girls to engineering and computer science. Beyond Charlotte, YETI helped build sustainable STEM programs in rural India through PREPARE, supporting over 8,000 students across 20 schools. Through partnerships, mentorship, and a commitment to sustainable impact, YETI continued empowering students locally and around the world.
