What is Rise With YETI?

Rise with YETI is a program initiated by a member on FRC team 3506 YETI and many members volunteer to run it! Robotics that brings a fun and interactive STEM curriculum to schools. Essentially, this eight-week initiative teaches students the basics of public speaking, the design process, robot building, and block coding. It will also help them develop the fundamental skills of building a robot and preparing a presentation in a timed environment. The first week will include team-building activities and developing their public speaking skills.  Next, the second week is when the game challenge will be introduced to the students and they will begin to brainstorm their robot designs. The third week will focus on more technical skills; specifically, block coding and then they will continue to design their robot. The game challenge will be introduced to the students in the third week and they will begin to brainstorm their robot designs. In the fourth week, they will continue to design the robot and build it. The students will continue to design and build their robots in the fifth week. Coding will begin in the sixth week and the students will test their missions. They will continue coding and begin to prepare their presentation in the seventh week. The eighth week will be presentation week and the students will present their robots and the skills that they have learned over the eight-week program. If enough schools participate, YETI will host a mini tournament where the students and their robots can compete amongst each other. At the end of their time in the program, each student will receive a YETI certification, decreeing them as officially "YETI Certified."
